This is Pre-k plus
Our version of junior kindergarten! We created a program for those students that may not be ready for the projected kindergarten school year. This class is designed for up 10 students who are ready for a challenge, as this class is a fast-paced version of Pre-K. Many students in this program are either not eligible for kindergarten based on their birthday or eligible but not ready for a full Kindergarten program.
Students must enter with a solid foundation of letter, shape, and color identification, recognition of numbers 1-10 and name recognition. During the year, students develop a love for learning through fun and challenging hands-on activities in preparation for the transition to kindergarten. Through these experiences, students are introduced to sight words, phonics, reading, and writing.
Pre-K PLUS offers an innovative curriculum using the Connecticut Preschool Framework as a foundation. We have enhanced our learning experiences through hands on exploration and engaging activities including cooking lessons, phonics, handwriting without tears, STEM based projects, kids’ yoga, mindfulness practices, interactive story times, character building activities, and so much more.
Innovative curriculum
Our program uses the foundation of the Connecticut Early Childhood Framework along with enhanced learning experiences through hands on exploration and engaging activities. Students will develop in all areas of learning while discovering how to be mindful and kind. We include cooking lessons, sight word practice, phonics, handwriting without tears, STEM based projects, kids’ yoga, mindfulness, interactive story
times, character building activities, and so much more!

SMALLER CLASS SIZE Students will be in a class size of 10 children.
CLEAN AND SAFE ENVIORNMENT
We follow the state regulations and guidelines of the Office of Early Childhood. We have been
enforcing additional cleaning and sanitizing procedures throughout the day to
ensure children’s health and safety. Therefore, children do not have to wear masks in our care.

We offer an enhanced Kindergarten experience focusing on academic development, social emotional connections, and healthy bodies.
FAMILY AND COMMUNITY ENGAGMENT
At Kokopelli Discovery Center we offer many opportunities for a home to school connection. We have monthly family projects, an easy to use communication program, and volunteer opportunities.
